HOW LONG WILL THE KINGDOM OF ANTICHRIST LAST?
CHURCH FATHER: SAINT IRENAEUS (130-200 AD)
"But
when this
Antichrist shall have devastated all
things in this world he will reign for three
years and six months, and sit in the temple at
Jerusalem ; and then the Lord will come
from heaven in the clouds, in the glory of the
Father, sending this man and those wbo follow him
into the lake of fire..."
( The Reign of Antichrist: Sourcebook of
Catholic Prophecies About "The Man of Sin",
Rev. R. Gerald Culleton, page 79, TAN BOOKS AND
PUBLISHERS, INC., Rockford, Illinois)
CHURCH FATHER SAINT HIPPOLYTUS (d. 235)
"For a time, times, and an half.'
By this he
indicated the three and half years of
Antichrist. For by a time he means a year;
and by times, two years; and by an half time,
half a year. These are the 'one thousand two
hundred and ninety days' of which Daneil
prophesied." (The Reign of Antichrist:
Sourcebook of Catholic Prophecies About "The Man
of Sin", Rev. R. Gerald Culleton, page 95,
TAN BOOKS AND PUBLISHERS, INC., Rockford,
Illinois)
CHURCH FATHER SAINT CYRIL OF JERUSALEM (d.
386)
"He shall through his great power, deceit, and
malice succeed in decoying or forcing to his
worship two-thirds of mankind; the remaining
third part of men will most steadfastly continue
true to the faith and worship of Jesus Christ.
But in his stanic rage and fury, Antichrist
will persecute these brave and devout Christians
during three years and a half, and
torture them with such an extremity of barbarity,
with all the old and his newly inventeded
instruments of pain, as to exceed all past
persecutors of the Church combined." ( The
Reign of Antichrist: Sourcebook of Catholic
Prophecies About "The Man of Sin", Rev. R.
Gerald Culleton, page 114, TAN BOOKS AND
PUBLISHERS, INC., Rockford, Illinois)
CHURCH FATHER SAINT AUGUSTINE (d. 430)
"They who desire to understand the fitness of
this interpretation may read Jerome's book on
Daniel, which is written with a sufficiency of
care and erudition. But he who reads this
passage, even if half asleep, cannot fail to see
that the kingdom of Antichrist shall fiercely,
though, for a short time, assail the Church
before the last judgement of God shall introduce
the eternal reign of saints. For it is
patent from the context that the time, times, and
half a time, means a year, and two years, and
half a year, that is to say, three years and a
half." (The Reign of
Antichrist: Sourcebook of Catholic Prophecies
About "The Man of Sin", Rev. R. Gerald
Culleton, page 118, TAN BOOKS AND PUBLISHERS,
INC., Rockford, Illinois)
CHURCH FATHER SAINT BENEDICT (d. 543)
"During the three and one-half years reign of
Antichrist, God will send Henoch and Elias
to help the Christians." Saint Benedict, as
quoted from secondary source (The Reign of
Antichrist: Sourcebook of Catholic Prophecies
About "The Man of Sin", Rev. R. Gerald
Culleton, page 120, TAN BOOKS AND PUBLISHERS,
INC., Rockford, Illinois)
FATHER HUCHEDE, CATHOLIC PRIEST (1884)
Father Huchede sums up how the Church Fathers
here quoted interpret the Apostle Saint John and
the prophet Daniel:
"The Prophet informs us that from the moment the
perpetual sacrifice shall cease, which shall be
the beginning of the general persecution, 'they
shall be delivered into his hands until a time
and times (and) a half a time' (Dan 7:25) This he
repeats in the twelth chapter, and St. John
employs the same expression to signify the time
during which the woman, figure of the Church,
will tarry in the desert. 'And there were given
to the woman two wings of a great eagle, that whe
might fly into the desert unto her pace, where
she is nourished for a time and times and half a
time from the face of the serpent.' (Apoc. 12:14)
St. Jerome remarks that the term 'a time' is
generally employed in Holy Scripture in the sense
of a year; the second term 'tempora' is
translated by the plural form because the Hebrew
and Greek texts employ the dual. the words of the
sacred text should therefore be interpreted, 'a
year, two years and a half year."
However, the
determination of the number of months removes all
equivocation on the subject, as specified in the
Apocalypse. 'And the holy
city they shall tread
under foot two and forty months,' (11:12), which
is equivalent to three years and a half.
Finally,
to remmove all possible doubt on the matter, God
has even revealed the number of days that the
persecution will last: 'The abomination of
desolation,' after the cessation of the perpetual
sacrifice, must last, according to the Prophet,
'1290 days.' (Dan. 12:11). In other words, three
years and a half with a few days over. Hence, it
is certain that this terrible persecution will
last during three years and a half."

Huchede, History of Antichrist, pages
26-27. TAN Publishers, Inc., Rockford, Illinois
CATHOLIC PRIEST, REV. FREDERICK
WILLIAM FABER (d. 1863)
Father Faber, in keeping with the Catholic
prophecies cited in Rev. Culleton's book, also
puts the reign of Antichrist at 3.5 years; he
also holds that Antichrist will be Jewish, of the
tribe of Dan; he will claim to be the Messias of
Isael and be zealous for the temple. Jerusalem,
not Rome, will be his metropolis, Faber claimed.
"When his empire is at its full, it will last
only three years and a half."
(Father Faber, as quoted from secondary source
The Reign of Antichrist: Sourcebook of
Catholic Prophecies About "The Man of Sin",
Rev. R. Gerald Culleton, page 174, TAN BOOKS AND
PUBLISHERS, INC., Rockford, Illinois)
CATHOLIC PRIEST, FATHER PRAT
"The ministry of the two witnesses lsts 'three
and a half years' (Apoc. 11:3), which coincides
with the first half of Daniel's last 'year-week'
(Dan, 9:26-27), whereas the second half of that
'year-week' coincides with the reign of
Antichrist (who also reigns for three and a
half years or 42 months in Apoc. 2:4).
Father Prat, Catholic priest, as quoted in The
Reign of Antichrist: Sourcebook of Catholic
Prophecies About "The Man of Sin", Rev. R.
Gerald Culleton, page 7, TAN BOOKS AND
PUBLISHERS, INC., Rockford, Illinois)
Thus, with only a few exceptions, one of which is
St. Bridget, as quoted below, virtually all of
the Catholic prophecies in Culleton's book put
the reign of Antichrist at 3.5 years, because
that is what the relevant Biblical texts suggest,
as evidenced by the aforementioned prophecies
by many of the most highly revered and officially
honored authorities of the Catholic Church. In
his authoritative but brief book on Antichrist,
Father Huchede, in 1884, arrived at the exactly
the same conclusion.
SAINT BRIDGET OF SWEDEN (d.
1373)
"lastly, he shalll arrive, the most wicked of
men, and, helped by the Jews, he will fight
against the whole world; he will reign during
three years, and shall have dominion over the
whole earth; he will make every effort to abolish
from the earth the Christian name, and very many
Christians shall be killed." ( The Reign
of Antichrist: Sourcebook of Catholic Prophecies
About "The Man of Sin", Rev. R. Gerald
Culleton, page 139, TAN BOOKS AND PUBLISHERS,
INC., Rockford, Illinois)
